Hidden Growth in Your Aesthetic Business
Six KPIs that reveal hidden growth in your aesthetic business, from Amanda Elbourn's CCR 2026 session, and how to train your team to own them.
It is far more than answering the telephone, managing a diary, or greeting patients at reception. A confident and capable Front of House team can support clinic operations, strengthen communication, build patient relationships, drive appointment bookings, and encourage patient loyalty.
Our Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ is a comprehensive, 13-module training programme designed to give Front of House professionals (receptionists, secretaries, personal assistants, patient coordinators, call handlers, customer service managers, and administrators) the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform at their full potential. Developed specifically for aesthetic medical and other private healthcare clinics, the programme focuses on the practical realities of managing patient interactions, clinic coordination, and day-to-day operations.
The result is a more consistent, patient-centred approach to service, supporting a seamless patient journey while helping your clinic improve performance, retention, and long-term growth.
Our industry-leading, modularised Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ Programme helps teams understand the importance of their role and gives them practical skills they can apply within their day-to-day work, immediately.
Your Front of House team can influence far more than customer service. They help shape your reputation, promote your brand, actively drive clinic growth through enquiry conversion, and manage the patient journey from the very first point of contact. They can support lead follow-ups, appointment bookings, improve patient retention, identify sales opportunities, manage difficult situations, and help protect your clinic's reputation. When these responsibilities are handled well, the impact can be significant. Patients feel valued. Communication becomes more consistent. Clinic flow improves. Opportunities are less likely to be missed, and valuable leads are not lost. Meaning your marketing spend is not wasted.
FOH staff are often the first people to turn your marketing activities into a confirmed booking and the start of a real patient relationship. Your website, social media posts, or local advertising may generate the enquiry, but your FOH team has a critical role in converting that investment into appointments and revenue, actively driving clinic profitability and sustainable growth. Give them the confidence, structure, and communication skills to manage enquiries effectively, understand patient needs, overcome enquirer hesitation during that initial conversation, and guide more prospective patients to the next step: booking a consultation or treatment appointment.
But remember, Front of House performance should be measured, not assumed. Our training helps you and your team understand the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that matter, from enquiry conversion and rebooking rates to attendance, cancellations, patient satisfaction and retail sales, giving them greater awareness and a clearer understanding of how their everyday actions affect the wider business. They can learn to measure their performance, identify opportunities for further improvement, and contribute more effectively to clinic success.
Read why Front of House and reception training is critical to the success of aesthetic clinics, including the true role of FOH in aesthetic clinics, how they drive revenue through enquiry conversion, their role in the patient journey, operational efficiency, building brand trust, and why you should invest in their development; whether that is onboarding and training a new team or elevating your existing staff to Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ so they can transform your clinic productivity and growth.
Team members will develop greater confidence and understanding of:
Training is particularly valuable when a clinic is investing in (under-performing) marketing, with enquiries not converting, and diaries not performing as expected, or where Front of House staff have the potential to contribute more effectively and significantly to clinic growth.
The learning objectives delivered help Front of House staff:
Front of House is a genuine touchpoint throughout the patient journey. Investing in tried-and-tested training methods to develop the right skills and knowledge can help ensure that every interaction supports the standard of care and experience your clinic aims to deliver and sets you apart from your competitors.
The modularised learning plan has been designed by Amanda Elbourn, founder of AB Aesthetic Consultant Services, and sales training expert Sonia Amerigo. Together with Natasha Watts, they provide end-to-end module delivery and guidance.
With more than 20 years of experience leading and growing an award-winning chain of aesthetic clinics, Amanda has developed extensive expertise across all aspects of clinic operations and business management. Throughout her career, she has trained and mentored Front of House teams, developed tailored training and monitoring programmes, and supported staff to become confident and capable within their roles.
Sonia also brings more than two decades of experience across clinic management, spa development, retail skincare sales and distribution. Her approach focuses on exceptional customer service alongside ethical, results-driven sales that support patient conversion and retention.
With over a decade of experience in private healthcare, Natasha has managed multiple well-known, high-performing aesthetic, cosmetic surgery, and eyecare clinics. She brings expertise in team leadership, performance management, and driving clinic growth through improved enquiry conversion and customer service excellence. Similarly, Natasha has first-hand knowledge of CQC compliance and inspection readiness, as a CQC Registered Manager. With a proven track record of developing teams, mentoring new managers, and implementing systems that enhance both operational efficiency and patient outcomes, she brings valuable insight into running a successful, commercially strong, and compliant team into all aspects of the training sessions she runs with FOH teams. As well as delivering interactive training, Natasha provides operational support for clinics as an aesthetic business consultant with ABACS.
Together, our ABABA trainers bring practical operational experience, industry knowledge and a detailed understanding of the challenges faced by aesthetic and private healthcare clinics.
Training is relevant for a range of patient-facing and operational roles, including receptionists, secretaries, personal assistants, patient coordinators, call handlers, customer service managers, and administrators.
It is suitable for:
Clinic Managers can also benefit from our Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ training programme, but the training modules available as part of our Master the Art of Clinic Success ™ programme are more suited to their role.
Training can be delivered to an individual member of staff or a larger Front of House team. In-clinic delivery can also be arranged where required.
This experience-led programme delivers comprehensive training modules covering the knowledge and skills needed for staff in all patient-facing roles. It is designed to empower those new to their roles, while also helping experienced Front of House professionals refine and enhance their operational, sales and customer service skills. Ultimately, the programme supports greater clinic success and profitability by strengthening patient retention.
Training is flexible. You may undertake the full 13-module programme, or you can select the most relevant modules for you, with no minimum requirement, to create a tailored package based on staff experience, identified knowledge gaps, and areas of performance that require attention.
Modules include:
Each module focuses on a defined area of learning, making it easier for participants to understand how the knowledge and skills gained can be applied to their own role and clinic environment.
Our approach goes beyond short-term motivation.
At AB Aesthetic Business Academy, we recognise that attending a training session and feeling inspired is not always enough to create lasting change. Without structured reinforcement and practical application, teams can quickly return to familiar habits.
Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ is designed around a behavioural integration model and sustained performance improvement. Training follows a structured approach that combines live, interactive learning with structured reflection and practical application. This can be followed by an advanced consultancy module that incorporates measurement, review, and refinement, where desired.
Each of the 13 training modules is adapted to the individual clinic business model and focuses on practical language, real scenarios and performance frameworks that can be used immediately within day-to-day patient interactions and clinic operations. Following training, participants are encouraged to reflect on their current habits, identify areas of resistance and confidence gaps, and establish clear personal performance objectives. This helps turn learning into deliberate action. Training sessions are scheduled with time between them to allow participants to apply their learning in the clinic environment. Defined tasks and objectives can be linked directly to operational outcomes, such as enquiry-to-booking conversion, appointment rebooking, or inbound call handling.
The programme can also be aligned with measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), allowing clinic owners and managers to gain greater visibility of FOH performance and identify where further development is needed to support the overall business. Where requested, follow-up training or consultancy support can be used to measure results, review performance and refine communication or operational approaches.
The objective is not simply for staff to attend training. It is to help Front of House teams build confident, consistent and measurable performance behaviours that support patient experience, clinic efficiency, and long-term business growth.
Master the Art of Front of House Excellence ™ is designed to deliver a comprehensive training programme tailored to your clinic business, supporting the development of your reception, admin, and operations staff to optimise the smooth running of the practice with next-level customer service.
